Presentation
I have to say that the presentation on the Birds of Fury slot is absolutely fabulous and Realtime Gaming have managed to capture the essence of the Angry Birds game perfectly in their, shall we call it, loving tribute. The graphics could have been taken directly from the game and the music too echoes that which you find in the game itself. The five reels are done nicely and the birds that are some of the symbols, look suitably furious.
The cartoon style graphics are easy to follow and have been designed to look great on all types of devices, so it will play just as well on mobile devices too, a real consideration for a game that was inspired by a hit mobile-device game.
Overall, with its simple look and colorful, cartoon-styled graphics, Birds of Fury has a mighty fine plumage.
What's on the reels?
If there is a disappointment with the graphical side of the game, it does come on the reels where Realtime Gaming elected to use the playing card symbols as the lower value offerings on the reels. These played no part in the original Angry Birds game and in truth, I'd have liked to have seen something more in keeping with the theme used as the lower value symbols.
Win ranges start very low with these lower value symbols with wins of less than 1/10th of your total bet possible and even the biggest value three symbol win with lower value symbols paying out much less than your total bet. Wins do increase in value for four and five with up to 10x your total bet available for five of the Ace symbols across the reels.
The value improves a little for the three Furious Bird symbols that are the higher value ones in the game. These start at 0.8x your bet for three symbol wins but increase up to 30x your bet for five symbol wins. The highest value symbol offers 40x your bet as the five symbol win and 2x your bet for three symbol wins.
Alongside these symbols there are two other symbols, the Birds of Fury Wild and the Birds of Fury Scatter (which can also become a Wild when one of the bonus features is triggered).
Wild features
The rather unimpressed looking yellow bird is the in game Wild symbol and this acts as a standard Wild, substituting for other symbols to create winning pay lines. It appears across all five reels and also is the highest paying symbol in the game with five across the reel offering a pay out of 80x your total bet.

Other bonus features
There are a couple of other bonus features on the Birds of Fury slot. The first is the Random Jackpot which increases in size with every real cash spin played on the game and every spin has a chance of landing the jackpot, win or lose, although the odds on landing it are, of course very small.
Another bonus feature is a Random Multiplier which can be triggered in the base game when a bird crashes into the wooden plank at the top of the screen. When this happens a multiplier is awarded before the spin and if your spin is a winner, then this multiplier will be applied to that win.
The final bonus feature is the Birds of Fury Wilds bonus which triggers at random but when it does, it will turn any Scatters on the reels into Wild symbols ,awarding any wins dues, and will then re-spin the reels to see if you can land another win or some more Wilds or Scatters. Any more you add could result in further re-spins being awarded and the chance to grow the overall value of the win.
Best feature of the Birds of Fury slot
I think the presentation of the Birds of Fury slot is a real winner and I think it will attract lots of people to give the slot a try. It is funny, colorful and captures the essence of the game that inspired the slot quite beautifully. In terms of the features, the Free Spins bonus is the best feature on the game offering a chance at some higher value wins, if you are lucky enough to trigger the bonus, which is not particularly easy.
What does the Birds of Fury slot lack?
It isn't so much what the Birds of Fury slot lacks that is the main issue for me with the game, but simply the value of some of the lowest wins on the slot. When you are paying out less than a tenth of what you bet as a win, that term does become a little redundant. The flip side is, those five-symbol wins which pay much better can be hit in a typical session and as such, this does tend to make the slot low-medium variance and more playable, especially for lower stakes players.
Conclusion
The Birds of Fury slot is a loving tribute to the Angry Birds game and despite of some negative reviews by others, I think this is a game that stands up well. There's no rule in slots that says good games have to be entirely original, many of the best slots are not and I think Birds of Fury captures the essence of the original, while still being a hugely amusing and fun slot to play in itself, quite perfectly. The range of bonus features is excellent but the game is hurt a little by so many lower value wins.
