Games Related to Bush Telegraph
The lush verdant foliage, sunlight creeping down from the canopy, the roar of the jaguar, the sound of rainwater and distant thunder, the jungle has always been a popular theme for slots and indeed some of the most popular slots in the world are based on it.
One such slot was the Bush Telegraph slot which was first released by Microgaming back in 2006. The name Bush Telegraph is simply a way of describing how information is passed between people (and indeed animals) in more rural or forested areas. This slot loosely followed that theme with Bongo Drums playing a key role in the slot alongside all the other jungle themed symbols on the reels.
The slot, it is fair to say, wasn't a massive success initially when released but that didn't stop Microgaming from pressing ahead and releasing a mobile version of the slot on their HTML 5 platform in July 2014.
The first thing that you notice is the colour, Bush Telegraph does leap off the screen at you, especially on larger screened mobile devices, so much so that it is a bit of an assault on the senses given the greens, bright purples and other colours that make this game visually so spectacular.
This is a five reel slot that has 15 fixed paylines in operation on each spin and you can get the reels spinning from as little as 0.15 per spin, up to a maximum of 75.00 per spin, with plenty of scope for all kinds of wagers between these two extremes.
When it comes to the symbols, the high symbols on the slot are some of the jungle creatures that have come to represent life in a rain forest, they include a large somewhat cheerful looking bird (that one can only assume is a horn bill of some form), a bush baby and a warthog.
The in game lows are the playing card symbols and this is a little disappointing. It would have been much nicer and made the game look far more appealing if Microgaming had replaced these oft used symbols with additional jungle themed symbols. There's not a jaguar, panther, elephant or chimpanzee in sight on the reels and this would have lifted the game a little.
The key features of the game start with the Wild symbol, which in the Bush Telegraph mobile slot is, unsurprisingly perhaps, a Bush. You can use this wild to replace any of the high or low symbols on the reels to create a winning payline. A nice touch is that every payline you complete with one or more Wild symbols, then you earn a multiplier of 2x the usual win, doubling your earnings in a stroke.
There are just two symbols on the reels that the Wild Bush symbol does not replace and the first of thee is the Bongo Drums. This is the Bonus symbol and when landed from left to right across the reels in consecutive order on a bet line, it activates the Bongo Bonus Feature game.
In this game, you can win up to 2,500 coins simply by selecting from 12 Bongo Drums. You keep picking until you uncover the symbol that ends the round. Avoid doing this and you can earn yourself a tidy win from this bonus feature.
The Seed Pod symbol is the Scatter symbol and activates the free spins round when landed on three or more reels in a single spin. During free spins you will receive 10 spins of the reels and every time you land a win on the reels, your winning amount is trebled thanks to a 3x multiplier.
Bush Telegraph is a simple, fast, colourful and enjoyable slot that is fun to play especially via mobile. It is one of the older slots that has enjoyed a new lease of life on the mobile platform.
