It is fair to say that the Hitman franchise has come a long way since it was first developed as a computer game.
Not only has the Agent 47 starred in several successive smash games, he has also been the focal point of a two blockbuster films (2007's Hitman and 2015's Hitman: Agent 47). In addition, the assassin was also the star of a smash hit slot from Microgaming. And now you can play the fantastic Hitman slot on your mobile too.
The original slot was released back in 2008 and it took Microgaming a few years to port the game over for mobile play, but they have successfully done so now, so what can players of this eye-catching slot expect when they load it up on their smartphone or tablet?
Let's begin with the basics which is that Hitman is a 5x3 reel slot that offers 15 fixed paylines in play at any one time. You can set your individual coin level at between 0.01 and 0.25, and you can wager between 1 and 20 coins on each of the 15 paylines. In short this means that with Hitman you can get the slots spinning for as little as 0.15 or as much as 300 coins.
All this means that Hitman is a game that is playable by all players regardless of the size of their bankroll. Indeed, more experienced players may find the Quick Spin option helps speed their game up considerably.
Now we've ascertained how much Hitman costs to play, there's the equally important aspect of how it looks and if you have played the Hitman games before on your console, then the look and feel of the symbols on the slots will be entirely familiar to you.
Given that the game is based on the exploits of our assassin with-a-conscience, there are none of the usual playing card lows on the slot. Instead, what you have across the reels are an array of different pieces of spy gadgets and equipment that Agent 47 would likely use in his line of business. Everything from an envelope stuffed with cash, pistols, sniper rifles, knives, garrote, and some rather worrying coloured liquid together with a needle which we can only assume is a lethal injection or truth serum of sorts.
The storyline of the slot is that Agent 47 has been hired to bump off a number of people and as you play the slot, you essentially play through that storyline. This is achieved both in the base game and perhaps more so through each of the three bonus games that players can access as they play through the base game.
Before we get to the bonus game, we need to first understand the in game wilds. This is Agent 47 wielding two pistols and this can substitute for any of the low or high symbols in the game, but not the scatter or the two other bonus symbols (insignia and the PDA device).
One nice touch is that this is an Expanding Wild and although it is only present on reels 2, 3 and 4, it can expand across the reels when triggered to help create winning paylines.
The base game pays out at a medium to low variance with regular wins of smaller amounts helping keep your bank account topped up, but in order to access the bigger wins available in this beautifully presented slot, then you are going to have to spend time accessing one of the three bonus games.
The first of these is the Insignia Bonus round which is activated when you land three Insignia symbols across the first three reels. When this occurs you are taken to a new screen where you can select from one of three icons to earn yourself an immediate cash bonus prize.
The 18 Certificate operates as the in game scatter symbol and when three or more are landed across the reels, you unlock the free spins game. You receive 18 free spins complete with a 2x multiplier and during this round you can access other bonus features, plus still have the Expanding Wilds feature in operation to maximise your wins.
Finally, the key to the biggest wins in the game come when you land three PFA devices across the third, fourth and fifth reels. This activates the Contract Bonus, where Agent 47 goes to work bumping off one of those named on his hitlist. Select which of his quarry you want him to see off and you earn yourself an instant cash prize with a randomised multiplier bonus.
Get lucky in this round and you can win up to the Hitman jackpot of 270,000 coins, although most wins tend to be significantly less than this.
The Hitman slot looks stunning but a warning to players who play via 3G/4G is that the graphics on this slot are memory intensive and as such, it does play best on a strong WiFi connection and it does tend to look better and more clear on larger mobile devices (such as tablets).
