The popularity of progressive jackpot games is such that they are almost without exception, always among the most popular types of games played at every online casino.

The reasons for that are many and varied but of course the main one is the chance for a player to wager a relatively small amount of money and perhaps walk away with a life-changing sum of money.

In this article, we are going to take a look at one of the top software development companies in the world today and look at four of their best progressive jackpot games. Tell you a little about each and then reveal how many times the jackpot was won in 2017 and crucially, how much was won each time the jackpot was triggered.

The company we are going to focus on is Realtime Gaming, chiefly because they are a company that has a number of different progressive jackpot games. We are going to look at four of its most popular progressive games, two slots, Spirit of the Inca and Megasaur and a two progressive jackpot card games; Let 'Em Ride and Caribbean Stud Poker Progressive.

Let's learn a little about each of the games:

Spirit of the Inca

  • Number of Reels - 5 reels
  • Number of Lines - 25 lines
  • Bet Minimum/Maximum - $0.50 to $5.00
  • Number of Progressive Jackpots - 5 (Mini, Minor, Major, Maxi and Grand)

Spirit of the Inca is one of the top Realtime Gaming progressive jackpot games as it boasts a selection of five different Progressive Jackpot funds. The Mini, Minor, Major, Maxi and Grand. However, the amount each progressive usually pays out is more evenly spaced out than on other multiple progressive jackpot slots.

The Mini jackpot is usually around the $40,000 to $60,000 mark and must be triggered by the time the prize fund gets to $100,000. This is a common feature on all the five progressive jackpots in the Spirit of the Inca slot. The Minor jackpot must trigger by $150,000, the Major by $200,000, Maxi by $250,000 and the Grand by $300,000.

This can of course cause great excitement when playing the slot if one jackpot is close to its win threshold then the chances are it is likely to be won some point soon. Individual progressive jackpot prizes on the Spirit of the Inca slot usually are between $50,000 and $300,000 in total.

  • Number of Progressive Jackpots - 3 (Minor, Major, Mega)

Based on dinosaurs, the Megasaur slot from Realtime Gaming is another slot which boasts a number of different progressive jackpots, this time it is three with the Minor, Major and Mega jackpots available. In this slot, the size of your bet determines which progressive jackpots are available and how much of the jackpot you will win.

If you play the Minor Bet ($1.25 per spin), then only the Minor Jackpot is active (which is 10% of the current jackpot fund). If you play the Major Bet ($2.50) then the Minor Jackpot and the Major Jackpot is active, the latter being 20% of the total progressive jackpot fund. If you play the Mega bet ($5.00), then the Mega Jackpot is also active which is 100% of the progressive jackpot fund, plus the Major and Minor Jackpots are also available to be won too.

This is a slot that is packed with plenty of different features alongside an excellent progressive jackpot game and is well worth a closer look.

Let 'em Ride Poker

  • Number of Hands - 1 Hand
  • Wins Start at - Pair of 10s or better
  • Bet Minimum/Maximum - $1 to $500
  • Number of Progressive Jackpots - One

Let 'em Ride Poker is a game where the player decides how much to bet on their hand and is then dealt three cards. A player needs to achieve a poker hand of either a pair of tens or better in order to win. Any hand ranked less than this will result in the player losing.

After they have placed their initial bet, the player is dealt three cards and they can then either continue the hand (which means to see the next card for free), or if they have a winning hand, they can raise the bet (by paying the same amount as their initial stake). Another card is then revealed by the dealer; the player can then decide whether they want to raise or continue for their fifth and final card.

At the end of the hand the player either loses or is paid out based on the strength of their hands. Payouts range from 2:1 for a pair of 10s or better, up to 1000:1 for a Royal Flush. The Progressive Jackpot is a bonus option that players can wager $1 per hand to qualify for. If a player wagers this bet before the game commences, in addition to their standard bet, and they achieve a Flush hand or better, then they win a progressive prize as follows:

  • Flush - $75 prize
  • Full House - $100 prize
  • 4 of a Kind - $500 prize
  • Straight Flush - 10% of the Progressive Jackpot fund
  • Royal Flush - 100% of the Progressive Jackpot fund

  • Wins Start at - High Card (if the dealer's hand is beaten)
  • Bet Minimum/Maximum - $1 to $500
  • Number of Progressive Jackpots - One

Caribbean Stud Poker is a slightly different version of the game compared to Let 'Em Ride, in that in this game, following their initial bet, a player is dealt five cards face up and the dealer is also dealt five cards, with one of their cards showing to the player.

The aim of the game is quite simple, to beat the dealers hand with your hand. If you think your hand is strong, you can raise your bet by clicking on the Raise button, which adds another coin to the pot the same amount as you initially bet.

At the end of this bet, the hands are revealed and if the player has the winning hand, then they are paid out from 1:1 for a high card up to 200:1 for a Royal Flush.

However, if at the start of the game the player activates the progressive jackpot bonus with a $1 side bet, then they can qualify for a progressive jackpot pay-out if they land a flush or better. The progressive jackpot pay-outs are as follows:

  • Flush - $75 prize
  • Full House - $100 prize
  • 4 of a Kind - $500 prize
  • Straight Flush - 10% of the Progressive Jackpot fund
