One of the best things about online slots is that many offer the player the ability to play the game automatically. Using the Autoplay feature for a predetermined number of spins means you can set your slot going, put down your phone, or walk away from your PC, and the game will keep playing in your absence.

Of course, there is always a chance that in your absence your game will hit a decent sized win and for the vast majority of players, this is pleasing enough. But one slots player from the UK, known simply as I.R., really did hit the jackpot in the most unusual way possible.

The story began when I.R was at her mother's house meeting up with some family and friends in November 2014. After an enjoyable time, the friends left and I.R said that she was "a little bored, so I thought I'd open up the casino and have a little play on the slots."

The game that I.R chose to play that morning was Mega Moolah, arguably one of the most popular online slots you can play at present for the simple reason that this slot offers a huge progressive jackpot. Indeed at present, the Mega Moolah jackpot burst through the 7.5m barrier setting a new record level as reported on MegaMoolah.com Winners page.

The slot was developed by Microgaming back in 2006 and over the intervening years there have been over 20 winners who have spun the reels and found their dreams come true by landing a £1m+ prize.

The original slot is based on an African safari theme, but there are other versions of the slot you can play including the Egyptian themed Isis, Summertime and 5 Reel Drive. The Dark Knight slot, named after the Christopher Nolan second movie in the Batman series, is also part of this progressive family and thanks to play on these four machines, plus the original Mega Moolah, the jackpot continues to grow at a rapid pace.

Back in November 2014, just five months after another player had landed a jackpot of €2.38m Euros, I.R decided to see if her luck was in. She loaded up the original Mega Moolah slot and began to spin the reels, but after just a couple of spins, she felt the call of nature.

Putting down the phone, she left it to play automatically while she disappeared to the loo.

Unbeknownst to her at the time, while she finished off her ablutions in the lavatory, her spins had triggered the jackpot wheel, which then landed her Mega Moolah Progressive Jackpot, which at the time stood at $3,390,332.58.

After finishing, I.R left the lavatory and explained what happened from this point:

"It's a little bit embarrassing, but when the Mega Moolah was spinning, I was actually in the toilet!"

I.R is not the only person to win the big jackpot in unusual circumstances, recently a Dutch player won another million dollar-plus jackpot on a different Microgaming slot (Major Millions) when he played the slot using free spins sent to him by his favourite casino as a gift for his birthday.

As amazing as her $3.3m win on the Mega Moolah jackpot is, I.R is not the wealthiest winner on the game from the UK, nor is she the player to have won the most in the UK on Mega Moolah via mobile.

Back in September 2013, a player known as Gabriel L won a massive £3.7m jackpot prize on the Mega Moolah game and out of all the big jackpot winners, it is the Lincolnshire man John Orchard who owns the record as the biggest ever winner. That record was set when he won £5.8m when playing the game in December 2012.

I.R is planning to spend part of her win on several items. She has promised to buy herself a new car and is going to take her daughter on a no-expense spared trip to Mexico. She will also use a significant chunk of the money to pay off her mother's and some of her friend's debt and will also make a sizeable donation to charity.

A spokesperson for the casino stated "Obviously we are very happy that one of our players hit the Mega Moolah jackpot.

"Mega Moolah is a very popular game at our online casinos due to the high frequency of payouts, so to have one of our players become a multi-millionaire by playing it, we are over the moon!"

I.R maybe forever known as the lady who hit the jackpot while in the John, but the story doesn't end there. Since her win back in November 2014, the Mega Moolah jackpot has continued to grow each day and with the number of players spinning the reels on this popular game increasing over time, that jackpot has continued to grow.

It has now been five months since I.R last triggered the Mega Moolah jackpot but in that time, the popularity of the game has seen the jackpot rise to a new record level of beyond £7.5m after-which a Canadian player took the grand prize just the other day.

Indeed, Mega Moolah players have been flocking to play the slot over the past few months, meaning that the jackpot has increased rapidly in the time since it was last won.

While there is no guarantee that the Mega Moolah jackpot will be won any time soon, it could be won in the next three spins, three days, three weeks, three months or even longer, what is certain is that at some point, someone, somewhere will win it.

And you could even be sat on the lavatory when you do so!
