With a name like Uptown Aces, you'd expect this online casino to be heavy on the card games. The site does have a selection of table games and video poker, but it also offers a lot more.
As with all casinos most of the games are slots even at Uptown Aces. That aside, the casino is worth checking out if you are looking for a new place to gamble on e.g. video poker online.
The theme of this site is clearly the neon marquees commonly depicted in postcard shots of Las Vegas. It is a darker theme that offers incredibly good graphics in an interesting hot pink/light green color scheme. The site is both desktop- and mobile-friendly; it offers app downloads for iOS, Android, and Windows.
Website Navigation
Uptown Aces' biggest drawback is its site navigation. When you visit the homepage, you are instantly presented with a top banner promoting one of the casino's current bonuses. Underneath below that is a scrolling news ticker highlighting the casino's most recent winners. A sticky menu persists across the top of the page offering links to the most commonly used sections of the site.
The middle section of the homepage features several thumbnails and links to new games. Unfortunately, clicking on any one of the links does not take you directly to the game. Instead, it takes you to a registration page. If you follow the sticky menu at the top of the page, you will be able to navigate to the 'Games' section.
Moving into the Games section creates a new navigation scenario with the main menu on the left side. The problem is that clicking on any one of the game categories only shows you a small number of actual links. Those links are not even to the games themselves; they are links to game reviews.
To actually play a game, you have to work your way into the site lobby. This unnecessarily complicated process requires new visitors to know what they're doing. Here's how you do it:
Your browser will now be directed to the lobby. Here you will have access to all the games, promotions, and informational links. Hopefully the site's current navigation issues are just a glitch being worked on. Otherwise, the difficulty of navigating Uptown Aces will probably keep players away.
Uptown Aces Casino games
Uptown Aces organizes its games under six categories. Each of those categories is listed below and includes a brief description. They are listed in the same order in which they appear on the main menu at the left of the lobby page.
Note that all the games are available for free play without registration. But again, you must work your way into the casino lobby to access them. Choosing a game will instantly open a new window where you will begin what the site calls 'fun play'. Playing for real money requires that you register as a site user, login with your username and password, and make a deposit.
Bonuses and promotions
You may have a tough time finding Uptown Aces' bonuses because of the navigation issues. Information about them is not accessible from the lobby, so you have to return to the main page and use the sticky menu at the top to navigate to the Promotions page.
Uptown Aces offers several bonuses and promotions, including their Massive Welcome Bonus. This bonus is a 6-tier bonus that, at least for the summer of 2018, could have been worth a total of up to US$8,888. The bonus works by awarding matching cash for each of the new player's first six deposits. Each deposit also gains 50 free spins.
Other Uptown Aces bonuses and promotions include:
Uptown Aces' VIP club is designed for loyal players who have been active on the site for a minimum of 30 days. In order to be eligible, players must have also deposited a minimum of $2,500 and earned 500 comp points. Also note that the VIP club is a 4-level club that earns greater rewards as you progress through the levels.
For the sake of comparison, the fourth level requires a minimum of 90 days on the site, $20,000 in deposits, and 5,000 comp points. The minimum requirements are greater, but so are the rewards.
Mobile play
When you first visit the Uptown Aces website, you will be able to play on your PC or mobile device through your browser. Mobile players do not have to continue with browser play, though. Uptown Aces offers mobile apps for both iOS and Android. The app should work on just about any modern mobile device. If your device is more than five or six years old, you may not be able to use the apps.
Browser players should note that the Flash plugin is required. Users are prompted if they try to play and the plugin is not yet installed. They can then download the plugin, install it, then restart the browser to play.
Banking options
An adequate list of banking options makes Uptown Aces a site worth checking out. You can choose between credit/debit cards, electronic payment systems, and even cryptocurrency. Here are all your options:
Note that only the Skrill, NETeller, ECO Card, and Crypto options allow for withdrawals. You cannot withdraw via your credit/debit card, through Direct Monday, or with the Transfer Money cash option.
In terms of cryptocurrency banking, one of the benefits of playing at Uptown Aces is the fact that both deposits and withdrawals are free. The casino does not charge anything extra for crypto transactions. There may be fees associated with your debit or credit card, but any such fees would be charged by your bank rather than the casino.
In summary
Uptown Aces is, overall, a decent site for online gambling. There are two strong points here: multiple banking options and the quality of the games themselves. We played several slot games in preparation for writing this review, and we have to admit that the quality was outstanding. The site is heavy on Flash, so whatever device you use to play (unless you are using a mobile app) has to have it installed and enabled.
