Presentation

The presentation of the Delicious Candies slot is very bright and cheerful and it does have an element of "Candy Crush" to it. The lower value symbols are decorated in the style of Candy Canes, while the higher value symbols are all made up as different kinds of sweetie goodies.

The trail displays this and goes up to a maximum of 15x the standard win.

Best feature of the Delicious Candies slot

For me, the best feature of the Delicious Candies slot is the Multiplier bonus that kicks in when you land a number of non-winning spins. The pleasing aspect of this is that it means when you spin and don't win, you are consoled somewhat by the fact that the next win you land could have a bigger multiplier bonus applied and thus be a better value win.

The bonus also works in Free Spins mode, which is useful as it means that you may only trigger the Free Spins win once but still land a sizeable win, especially if it is one of the latter wins in your Free Spins bonus.

What does the Delicious Candies slot lack?

There are a couple of niggling issues with the Delicious Candies slot that I feel hold it back somewhat. The first is that the multiplier does not increase incrementally with each non-winning spin. That's annoying especially when you are just shy of hitting the 3x, 5x or 15x multipliers and land a win and only land the smaller multiplier on offer. I also feel the Free Spins offering is somewhat disappointing as many times, you will use all Free Spins and barely trigger a win in them. There needs to be a better and more appealing bonus you earn when landing Free Spins to make this part of the game more attractive as, the way the slot stands, you can win more in the base game with that Multiplier Bonus in operation.

Conclusion

There are a number of nice features in the Delicious Candies slot that do make this a fun game to play, the win both ways across the reels approach is a real winner and can lead to some sizeable wins and does make each spin exciting for longer as it means even if you don't hit a winner on the first three reels, you can on the last. The look of the slot is excellent but I do have an issue with the music which did drive me a little crazy after a short space of time and which had me hitting the mute button quickly.
• Game-play: 14 / 20 - The game play of the slot is enjoyable enough with lots of wins in the base game, although some of these wins are very small and often not as much as you bet on your spin. The Multiplier bonus however can kick in to increase the value of these wins and that does make the base game very playable and not too hard hitting on your wallet. One frustrating aspect is when you land the 15x multiplier, you tend to find that you only trigger it with one of the smaller value wins, which does become frustrating at times.
• Bonus Features: 11 / 20 - The bonus features of the slot are generally good. The Multiplier trail is a great addition to the base game and the fact it is constantly used also gives the slot added appeal. The Bonus game is a simple Pick'em Bonus game and can award cash prizes, although not very often. Free Spins does trigger regularly, but in truth is a bit of a disappointment and rarely leads to any bigger value wins than you would land in the base game. Indeed, it is this lack of benefit from the Free Spins bonus which makes the bonus features on the slot less appealing than they should be.
• Entertainment Factor: 13 / 20 - The base game on the Delicious Candies slot is good fun to play and that multiplier bonus does help factor in some sizeable wins alongside the lower value wins. It is definitely a slot that will appeal to lower stakes games more than the higher stakes player though. The bonus games however are rather poor in comparison to the base game and it does feel like you are somewhat cheated when you activate Free Spins for example, and don't even land a single win on any of your seven spins. That aspect of the slot really does diminish the enjoyment of playing it.
