Games Related to Blood Eternal
While it is common knowledge that vampire mythology can be traced back to the famous story Dracula, by Bram Stoker. Fewer people know the name Dracula literally means 'The Devil' and it was the nickname given to a fearsome Transylvanian warlord, Vlad, who used to impale his enemies on spikes while he dined watching them die. He became infamous throughout history as Vlad the Impaler.
The setting for Dracula however is the somewhat quaint English town of Whitby, a North Yorkshire seaside resort famous for its ancient Abbey ruins and Gothic outlook. It was this which inspired Stoker to create many of the elements that have since become central to vampire mythology.
Blood Eternal is simply the latest slot game to be based on this genuinely creepy tale. So, is this a slot which is one you are going to delight in as you sink your teeth into playing, or is it a slot which is going to leave you feeling as if you've got bats in your belfry?
Let's take a closer look and find out.

The backdrop for the Blood Eternal slot is a dark, candlelit room, with shadows cast by the moonlight from a single window. The slot is dark in keeping with the theme of the slot and the six reels sit in the middle of the screen. The quality of the graphics is excellent, especially on higher quality screens and you can of course play the slot on mobile and tablet as well as desktop.
All the main controls for the slot are at the foot of the reels including the Coin Size selector, the Bet Per Line selector which lets you wager between one and five coins per pay line. There is also Max Bet, Spin and Auto Play buttons. There is also a Double Up gamble feature which can be used when you land a cash win in the base game.
Your balance and the size of any wins are also displayed on the screen, together with how many credits your current coin size and number of coins bet per line will allow you to play with on the slot.
Musically the slot is nicely presented with a quiet and dark soundtrack which really helps promote the strange and eerie feeling that the slot hopes to portray for players.
What's on the reels?
When it comes to symbols on the reels the lower value symbols are the standard playing card lows, although they have been given a slightly Gothic revamp to make them look more in keeping with the styling of the slot. While this works aesthetically, it does mean that distinguishing between the different types of low symbols on a spin, especially when you hit many at once, can be more difficult than it needs to be.
Alongside the four different playing card low symbols are some medium value symbols of vials of blood, a bottle of holy water and a gargoyle, which offer pay outs of 40 coins up to 1,500 coins. There are also two higher value symbols on the reels of a gold crucifix and a Gothic mansion which offers wins of between 60 coins up to 2,500 coins.
There are a number of other symbols on the reels in the Blood Eternal slot but these are all tied in with some of the key bonus features of the slot and as such we will explore them in more detail below.
The standard Wild symbol is simply the word Wild and this symbol can substitute for any of the other standard symbols in the game to help create a winning pay line. You can also earn bigger value wins by landing consecutive Wild symbols across the reels, with pay outs offered if you land three or more Wilds on a pay line from 100 coins up to 3,750 coins for six across a pay line.
Wild symbols are one of the best ways you can land some of the better value wins in the base game and they play a significant part in helping players achieve better pay outs when playing the slot without triggering any of the other key bonus features too often.
Free Spins features
Blood Eternal is an interesting slot because there are four triggering symbols and you need a specific pair of each to land next to each other to trigger the bonus. The first pair of symbols is the Vampire symbol and this appears on the second and fifth reel. In conjunction with this symbol you also need the Human symbol (which appear on the third and fourth reels) to land next to the Vampire symbol.
If you manage to land these symbols on consecutive reels, then the Free Spins bonus round will launch and offer you 8 free spins. Land both Vampire Symbols and both Human Symbols on a single spin and you will trigger the free spins round with an additional 8 free spins (16 in total).
During Free Spins the symbols that triggered the bonus will be held in place on the reels and will be Wild symbols. Furthermore, with each free spin, these triggering symbols will also produce the Wild Blood Spatter bonus, which will see blood squirt across the reels, turning between one and four other symbols Wild on every spin. If you landed both Vampires and Human symbols to trigger this feature, then up to eight Wilds will be added to the reels.
Other bonus features
There are a couple of other bonus features to be aware of on the Blood Eternal slot and the first of these is the Bat and x2 Bat symbols. These are non-standard symbols and play more like a scatter symbol as they can be used in conjunction with each other to land some of the biggest wins in the game.
A single bat counts as a single bat, but the x2 bat counts as two bats on a pay line. This means that if you can land six x2 bat symbols across the reels, then you trigger the huge 12 bats pay out which is the game jackpot of 50,000 coins. Land 11 bats and you hit a 25,000-coin prize and as the number of bats landed decreases, so does the size of the win attributed down to 100 coins for landing three bats on a pay line.
The other bonus feature is the Double Up option which is available on any cash win. Here you can wager all of your win, or half your win on the spin of a coin. Correctly predict the outcome of the spin and you double your wager. Incorrectly guess and you lose your money wagered. You can use this feature multiple times on a single win if you wish to try and increase the value of your winnings.
Best feature of the Blood Eternal slot
Without doubt the best feature of the Blood Eternal slot is the Free Spins bonus round, but it can be fiendishly difficult to trigger at times and you do need to have a good grasp of managing your bankroll in order to be able to play enough spins to trigger the bonus. Triggering it with just one Vampire and one Human symbol offers decent returns, but if you can land it with two of each of these symbols then the wins tend to be much larger given the extra free spins and additional Wilds on the reels.
The Bat jackpot symbols are also decent and deserve a mention, although it can be easy to win a small amount of money by landing 3 - 6 bats on the reels, landing the higher number of bats is, as you would expect, far more difficult and as such, it is not the most profitable aspect of the slot.
What does the Blood Eternal slot lack?
I don't really feel the Blood Eternal slot lacks anything in terms of content, bonuses or features. The game has been well designed and there is certainly enough packed into it to keep even the most demanding of slot players happy.
However, I feel the slot could have been a bit more representative of the Vampire legend than it is. Other than the Free Spins bonus and the different objects on the reels, there's little in the way of Vampires to get involved with. Even just some animations, cut-away scenes when you trigger a bonus or something similar would have perhaps tied the slot to its main theme a little more obviously. As such, the slot doesn't quite draw you into its world in the way that the best scary slots tend to do.
Blood Eternal is an excellent slot game that is packed with features and has some outstanding moments. The fact you can win both ways across the reels is always a big plus for me on any slot and the bonus games you can trigger make the slot hugely enjoyable and give you a clear purpose when playing through the base game.
However, this is not a slot for those seeking a cost-effective spin or two. It can take a long time to trigger the bonus features and as such, it can be a little heavy on the pocket if the slot plays tight. As such, it is more a medium variance game, rather than a lower variance slot and this should be borne in mind when selecting the size of your coin and the number of coins wagered on each line.
