Presentation

It's fair to say that the presentation on the Da Vinci's Treasure slot is a little basic. The backdrop is nicely done, with what looks like a map, a compass and a candle, but the reels themselves are rather basic and perhaps not quite as dramatic, or linked to Da Vinci, quite as much as I would have liked to have seen.

The sound though is suitably epic for an adventure themed game and when you add that to the animations and bonus features, which is where you see much more of what Da Vinci produced in his lifetime, then the way the slot looks improves considerably.

What's on the reels?

There are a total of eleven different standard symbols on the reels, which is rather a high number and does help explain why this slot is one of the more higher variance games you can play. The lower value symbols are the playing card lows, which is a bit disappointing as I felt there was a chance to look at some more Da Vinci linked items here.

Wins range from 10 coins up to 300 coins but the majority of wins are generally smaller than the size of the bet you will make and it is only the five-symbol wins that offer you a real chance of a significant profit on a spin.

There are also five higher value symbols on the reels and they are the crossbow, Da Vinci's helicopter design, what looks like a golden backpack, a book and lastly, the dashing adventurer John Hunter. Without doubt, the bonus features of the Da Vinci's Treasure slot is what makes it so much fun to play. I also found the game relatively easy in terms of unlocking the bonus, although landing a big prize from the bonus was much more difficult. The fact you get three bonus games to play through means that the game has additional longevity too.

What does the Da Vinci's Treasure slot lack?

I would have liked to have seen a multiplier applied to Wild wins in the base game as I think the game plays very hard for players at this point and it would have been beneficial to have had a bonus that offered a little extra value on those small base game wins.

Conclusion

To enjoy the Da Vinci's Treasure slot, you really need to be a fan of higher variance game and also be happy to wager slightly more than the standard bet.
