The T-Rex slot is set against the backdrop of a rather strange and misty land where trees and shrubs have overgrown and there is no sign of man. That's probably a good thing given the number of dinosaurs that roam the reels in this slot that boasts 5 reels and a total of 25 pay lines, which can be selected using the buttons below.

What's on the reels?
What we have on the reels are a selection of different symbols which starts with the somewhat ubiquitous playing card symbols as the in game low value options. On a standard (non Wild) win with these symbols you can win from 5 coins for three on a pay line up to 125 coins for five on a pay line of jacks, nines and tens or 250 coins for aces, kings and queens. That's a decent return if you can hit the full five symbols.

Wild Features
The T-Rex Wild symbol serves a dual purpose on the T-Rex slot. First, the symbol acts as a standard wild. This means it can replace all other standard symbols on the reels to create winning pay lines. However it should be noted that in the base game, the T-Rex Wild can only be found on the third reel.
The second function the Wild serves in the game is that each time it is used to complete a winning pay line using any other symbols, the standard payout you would receive for that winning spin is doubled as a result. This means that all the payouts you learned about above for the high, medium and low symbols in the game are all doubled if you land a Wild symbol as part of your win.
The Wild symbol also serves a function in the free spins bonus round, which we will explore in more detail in the section below.
Free Spins Features
To trigger the Free Spins bonus game you need to land three or more of the dinosaur egg scatter symbols anywhere across the reels. When you land the eggs to trigger the bonus, you then get to click on each of the eggs you have landed to reveal just how many free spins you will receive. You could win up to 10 free spins for each of the eggs you landed (maximum of 50 free spins).
Once you have revealed your free spins bonus then the free spins game will begin. However, during free spins, when you land a T-Rex Wild on the third reel on any spin, then T-Rex will go crazy and rampage across the reels, devouring any of the other dinosaurs that he can see on the reels. Best Feature of the T-Rex slot
Although I think the free spins bonus is a decent one on the T-Rex slot, my favorite feature of the game is how the Wild symbol is used throughout the game. In the base game, the only down side is that that the Wild only appears on the third reel, which diminishes its impact but the fact that all wins with a Wild involved are doubled, does make this a great value option in the base game and particularly during free spins.
Indeed, the fact that when you land the T-Rex on the third reel during free spins and it eats the other dinosaurs, turning them into T-Rex Wilds too, is a fantastic option and can really pay some big dividends if you can land that Wild symbol on a spin with plenty of dinosaurs on the reels. If this happens then you can really hit some bigger value wins on the slot.
What does the T-Rex slot lack?
There are a couple of small changes I would like to have seen incorporated into the T-Rex slot which I felt would have made the game slightly more exciting and give the game a little more variation in game-play for the player. First off, I feel the Wild symbols are used very well but having them only on the third reel does make them very hard to hit. Expanding this to reels 2 and 4 would have been a better option, especially in the base game.
I also feel the drop off in payout amounts between five symbol wins and four symbol wins are massive. For example, five of a kind of aces or kings or queens sees a 250 coin payout, four of a kind, just 30, which barely covers your bet. That would be OK if you hit five symbol wins relatively often but unfortunately, as the big money prizes suggest, they are difficult to hit.
Finally, I'd have added a few more dinosaurs to the reels, only four on a slot is somewhat poor when there are a total of 13 symbols on the reels.
Conclusion
T-Rex is a decent slot, but perhaps a little basic when compared to other games. It doesn't compare too favorably to another big dinosaur-themed slot, Jurassic Park or its sequel Jurassic World, but this is a much simpler slot game than either of those two slots. It does offer some sizeable wins and a progressive jackpot, but the game-play is a little lacking, the sounds rather timid and I'd question the lack of dinosaurs on the reels. This is a slot that has some redeeming features and a decent theme but which when everything is pulled together, just doesn't quite hit the mark for me.
