Do you remember the Wheel of Fortune game that was hugely popular in the USA and which enjoyed a smaller amount of popularity in other parts of the world? The gameshow made a star of Vanna White in the United States and its legacy can be felt here in this retro-styled slot Wheel of Chance.
Admittedly, the company haven't gone to town when it comes to imagination with the naming of this game. But essentially that is the crux of the slot. You play the base game, trigger the Wheel of Chance and spin it with a chance to win a variety of cash prizes, which range from the small to the very large.
That's not all though, after you have spun the amount you have won turns into a Bust sector on the wheel. You can now elect to take your winnings, or spin the wheel again. Land on a cash prize and you get that money added to your win. Land on a bust sector and you lose all your prizes and end up with a small consolation prize.
So how does this retro-styled slot from WGS Technology shape up? Let's take a closer look and find out.

Presentation
It is fair to say that the presentation on the Wheel of Chance slot is somewhat basic, although as a retro-styled slot, you would expect that. The backdrop is simply the Wheel of Chance, although there is no detail on the wheel itself. The reels are superimposed over that and there are three with just the one pay line in play.
The sound for the slot is also somewhat basic although the animations for the reel spinning, as well as for the Bonus Wheel spins, are very good and give the slot some much needed dynamism. The game is presented in a somewhat basic format which does the job but isn't going to win any design awards for originality.
What's on the reels?
There are a number of retro-styled symbols on the Wheel of Chance slot reels. The lowest value is the Cherry, which awards small value wins for one or two across the reels. The other symbols on the reels are the three different Bar symbols (single, double and treble) and these can pay out by being landed with two of the same symbol, or two of any other Bar symbol for a lower value win.
Higher value symbols are the Lucky 7s but even these only pay out around 80 coins (160 coins if you play 2 or 3 coins per spin) so the wins are not huge, however the size of win increases dramatically when you land the Wild symbol with other Wilds (as we shall explore below).
The only other two symbols on the reels are the Wild and the Wheel of Chance bonus symbol which both link in to the main features of the slot as outlined below.
Wild features
The Wild symbol is the diamond and it can substitute for any of the other symbols on the reel to help create a winning pay line. It is also a multiplier too, meaning that any win with a single Wild lands a 2x multiplier.
However, if you land a win with two Wilds as part of the line then the Wilds are combined and you would receive a 4x multiplier in total on that particular win.
Land three Wilds across the single pay line on the slot and you will land the base game jackpot prize of 2,400 coins (of you bet 3 coins). If you play 1 or 2 coins, then the size of the jackpot prize is also smaller (800 coins for 1 coin, 1,600 coins for 2).
Free Spins features
Wheel of Chance does not have any form of Free Spins bonus, instead it has a Wheel of Chance spin-the-wheel bonus game, which is explored in more detail below.
Other bonus features
The only other bonus features on the slot is the Wheel of Chance bonus. This triggers when you land the Wheel of Chance symbol on the reels and you have bet three coins for that spin. When triggered, you are presented with the Wheel of Chance and click the spin button. The wheel will then spin and land on an amount of money which will be your first cash prize.
However, you now have a choice. You can take your prize and quit the bonus, or spin the wheel again only this time all the amounts of the same that you won previously, will now be 'bust' sections, which mean if you land on them again, you lose any money you have won.
Do you stick with what you win or spin the reel again to see if you can win even more cash? This little twist makes the bonus feature great fun to play (though sometimes frustrating when you lose!).
Best feature of the Wheel of Chance slot
The Wheel of Chance bonus game is the best feature of the slot, although the Wild multiplier bonus runs it a close second. The fact you can play this bonus game more than once, with more 'bust' symbols on the reels each time you spin, adds a sense of jeopardy and excitement to the bonus and it is the game where you are likely to win a decent amount of money, more so than the base game, if you do not get too greedy.
What does the Wheel of Chance slot lack?
The obvious omission on the Wheel of Chance slot is a Free Spins bonus game, but in truth I would prefer they did away with the spaces on the wheels and ensured every spin landed a symbol on the reels, even if they increased the number of symbols. At least with symbols on the reel, you feel as if you stand a chance of a win, but if you land a space on the first reel or second or third, then you know any chance of a win is over.
Conclusion
Wheel of Chance is a simple to lay and easy-to-follow retro slot game that has a simplistic base game, with some sizeable payouts, although most tend to be at the lower end of the scale. The Wild symbol keeps the base game interesting as does the Wheel of Chance bonus and it is the latter which really makes the game enjoyable to play, with the chance of some sizeable wins if you spin and get lucky.
