Presentation
The presentation of the slot is very nicely done. The reels are set against the backdrop of what appears to be a magical forest glade, although with a 5x4 reel-set, there's not an awful lot of the backdrop to see.

Other than the featured symbols (which we will look at below) there are essentially two different types of symbols on the reels in Pixie Wings. The first of these is the lower value playing card symbols, which cover 10 through to Ace and which offer wins ranging from 2 coins up to 40 coins if you can land five on a pay line.
There are four high value symbols and these are the four members of the Pixie Royal Family fighting for the throne. There is the green Princess, the blue Prince, the pink Queen and the yellow King and these symbols offer payouts when just two land on a pay line, so wins range from 2 coins up to 150 coins.
What is immediately apparent here is that the size of these wins, considering you are betting 50 coins per spin, is not huge and so to compensate for that, all the symbols on the reels can be super-stacked. This means that you can turn multiple reels all to the same symbol and then trigger multiple pay line wins across the reels on a single spin and it is in this way that the bigger wins in the game can be found.
The symbol that is super-stacked on the reels is decided randomly at the start of every spin and can include the Wild symbol, which we will explore in more detail below.
Wild Features
The Wild symbol is the Pixie Wings logo and when you land this symbol on a winning pay line, it will substitute for any of the lower or high value symbols to create a win where possible. This is by far and away the most common method of landing some of the biggest wins possible on the slot and should certainly be what the player is hoping to trigger.
Free Spins Features
The Tree symbol is the Bonus symbol and when you land three or more of these symbols anywhere across the reels (they do not have to be on a pay line), then you will trigger the Free Spins feature. When this feature is triggered, you are given a choice of five different options for how to play your bonus round.

Best Feature of the Pixie Wings slot
Without doubt the best feature of the Pixie Wings slot for me is the Stacked Symbols. These are the very heart of this slot and without the feature, the game would just not work as the rewards for wins are just too low compared to your initial wager. However, with Stacked Symbols multiple pay line wins become very possible and it is this which makes the slot tick.
While big wins using the four Pixie characters are possible, it is when the Wild is super-stacked that the really huge wins are possible and when you see many Stacked Wilds, there is a real rush of excitement when you play through that spin. It is this feature, rather than the Free Spins bonus, which has resulted in my biggest wins on the slot.
What does the Pixie Wings slot lack?
Being honest, the lack of any other feature games, particularly a base game bonus that could be triggered at random, does make this a rather one-dimensional slot to play at times.
